Ads by LuckyShopper, or Powered by LuckyShopper, are advertisements created by ad software (or adware) that attaches itself to popular web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer). Its aim is to present a large amount of ads, rather uninteresting at that, on sites that you frequent to incite users to click them and garner ad revenue (be aware that on the web, a click on an ad brings money to its owner).
This adware does not install itself, and it cannot be installed through its “official” site (see the image above): LuckyShopper requires the help of its victim, usually attained by deceit. In fact, cyber delinquents make these websites themselves using up-to-date content and videos. For example, when a visitor wants to watch a video, a fake message shows up and asks to install an add-on to the browser claiming the current version is out of date. When accepted, the user unknowingly installs adware directly to his/her computer. Some creators of unwanted programs will even disguise them so users mistake them for other well-known programs (VLC, WinRar, Flash Player). Once the installation is complete, LuckyShopper becomes active on the machine and can begin to randomly spread ads, depending on the infected user.
