Linksicle is a potentially unwanted program that can affect your PC if you don’t pay close attention to your internet downloads. If this adware is found on your PC, it will display pop-up ads with the text “Brought to you by LinkSlicle” during your browsing. These ads can appear on any browser (Chrome, Firefox or IE) and target the Windows users.
How can a program like this be installed on your computer? First of all, it’s due to lack of attention despite the presence of an antivirus. Free antiviruses do not usually stop this kind of threats. You have been infected by the setup program of a free program and if you haven’t customized the installation, you won’t be able to see the additional programs that will be added alongside with your downloaded program. Linksicle can also be installed if you have installed a false software update (most of times it’s Java or Flash). Keep in mind that your browser is not able to know if your programs need to be updated. Therefore, if you’re offered with updates from you browser, obviously it’s about advertising. You can still install Linksicle through a fake program, fake video players or fake plugins that are very popular on streaming sites.
