Happy Cloud is an advertising software, in other words a program whose only goal is to distribute as much ads as possible. However that’s not its only function, as a matter of fact, Happy Cloud can also spy your online moves. It collects data from those moves to sell them afterwards. To sum up, although Happy Cloud is not a virus, it is an unwanted program. All ads coming from Happy Cloud are usually tagged as Ads by Happy Cloud or Happy Cloud Ads.
As many other adware, Happy Cloud is often quietly offered with some other software you installed on your computer, probably a fake video player found in a streaming website, a fake update for one of your plug-ins or a software downloaded from a platform like sotf32.com, download.com, softonic, etc… Those platforms make money with this actions. Actually they win money with each Happy Cloud‘s successful installation.
The previous picture is a screenshot from Happy Cloud‘s official website; website whose only reason to exist is to publish all the conditions and terms that people who have Happy Cloud in their computers have accepted. Remember that by installing the software you automatically accept these conditions, whether you installed it on purpose or not.
Happy Cloud is already known by several antivirus because it’s actually a new version of the infection called BrowseFox. SuperWeb LLC, the company behind these infections never changes its methods, all it does is change the name of the software and registers a new website where they can share their conditions of use.
