If you’ve suddenly seeing a Windows Script Host error mentioning a path towards a file called fiber.js you can be certain that you’re being the victim of one or more adware. An adware (advertising software) is like its name suggests, a software that distributes publicity, what the name doesn’t suggest is that it will also try to recover your personal data. Software belonging to this adware group, are presented as “free”… however they get financed by the ads they show. Where it gets really negative is when we notice that ads match our profile, this is achieved by analyzing several data coming from your computer. Some of them actually use this data to construct databases they can sell afterwards. Many programs are being sponsored by publicity, so they have no problem adding adware to its installations, they just make sure to do it quietly. This is exactly what happens for fiber.js.
