Remove Celebrity Alert

Following along the “Alert-Adwares” line, meaning Coupon Alert, Zombie Alert, Storm Alert, Finance Alert, etc… we have now a new version, Celebrity Alert. All these adwares are developed by the same company, thus the goal is the same for all of them, and it the case of Celebrity Alert we’re not talking about keeping you up to date with the latest news around your favorite celebrities, even though that’s what their website says…

What does Celebrity Alert wants from me?

Celebrity Alert is not a dangerous virus, however this doesn’t mean it’s good for you. The only interest of this software is in all the personal data it can collect about you to sell it afterwards. In the meantime it will make the best out of its presence in your system to show you as much publicity as possible in every website you visit, it doesn’t matter which browser you use. Either Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox can be affected by this adware if they’re installed in your computer at the moment you got infected.

How did Celebrity Alert end up in my computer?

Look no further than your own reflection in the mirror, as it was you and only you who made it possible (unless of course your little brother or sister got to your computer without you noticing it). Actually by installing free software is how Celebrity Alert ends up installed in our computers. By going too fast while installing we won’t notice what else is being offered besides the wanted software, so without knowing it the adware is installed. Being aware and careful is important while installing software from the net to avoid this kind of problems.
