Key Shift  is a name attached to a malicious unwanted program who takes advantage of users lack of attention when installing new software to end up in their computers. Once installed, Key Shift will start following and saving information about our every move online, while also showing ads non-stop.

The ads that Key Shift broadcasts, will appear in every possible corner of your screen. They can choose to appear among the content of your visited websites (banners, underlined words, pop-ups), or they will open up new tabs and windows on its own or responding to clicks coming from you. It’s common that this ads are tagged as: Ads by Key Shift or Powered by Key Shift. 

To avoid this kind of annoyance, it’ extremely important to be aware and reject any optional software offered in setup programs (specially those of free software coming from the net). You can reject such installations by deselecting any pre-selected cases by default.

Even though Key Shift has an official website, it’s not available for download there. This website exists as an attempt to look like a trustworthy and legit software, and to make public their conditions of use where they list some of the malicious actions the software executes.

How to remove Key Shift ?

Remove Key Shift with AdwCleaner

The AdwCleaner tool will scan your pc and web browser for Key Shift, browser extensions and registry keys, that may have been installed on your computer without your consent.

• Before starting AdwCleaner, close all open programs and internet browsers, then double-click on the file AdwCleaner.exe.
• If Windows prompts you as to whether or not you wish to run AdwCleaner, please allow it to run.
• When the AdwCleaner program will open, click on the Scan button.
• To remove malicious files that were detected in the previous step, please click on the Clean button.
• Please click on the OK button to allow AdwCleaner reboot your computer.

Remove Key Shift with Junkware Removal Tool

Remove Key Shift with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a light-weight anti-malware program that is excellent at removing the latest detections.

• Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to your desktop.
  Premium Version Free Version (without Real-time protection)
• Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware using the installation wizard.
• Once installed, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program, and that a scan has never been run on your system. To start a system scan you can click on the Fix Now button.
• If an update is found, you will be prompted to download and install the latest version.
• Malwarebytes Anti-Malware will now start scanning your computer for Key Shift.
• When the scan is complete, make sure that everything is set to Quarantine, and click Apply Actions.
• When removing the files, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware may require a reboot in order to remove some of them. If it displays a message stating that it needs to reboot your computer, please allow it to do so.
